LOS ANGELES – Bellator today announced that it will sign the winner of WFT's upcoming four-man featherweight championship tournament at World Fight Tour 9, furthering the organization's commitment to European expansion. The event takes place on Saturday, Nov. 10 at the Olympic Sport Vall d'Hebron Pavilion in Barcelona, Spain.
Based in Madrid, the newly formed WFT has emerged as Spain's premier combat sports promotion and previously hosted events in Cordoba, the Canary Islands and Alicante, as well as Madrid. Run by veteran martial arts promoter Pablo Sanchez, the organization features divisional tournaments and super fights that highlight the region's best talent.
On Nov. 10 in Barcelona, David Mora (4-1), Vicente "Chento" Marquez (4-5), Damian Frankiewicz (7-2) and Stewart Serrano (4-3) will battle in a one-night tourney to determine who will become WFT featherweight champion and move on to compete inside the Bellator cage.
