Bellator welterweight Jacob McClintock burst on to the MMA scene in dramatic fashion with an unprecedented win streak that has now pushed his record to 6-0. Even more impressively, each of his victories thus far has come via TKO or submission during Round 1.

As a result, the 21-year-old., who made his pro debut in 2007, is consistently identified by top MMA publications as one of the sport’s future stars. In only his second professional bout, he was able to deal a series of incapacitating punches that dropped opponent Adam Liston just 39 seconds into Round 1. This win was followed, eight months later, by a submission (Armbar) victory against Eric Regan just halfway through Round 1. McClintock continued to tear through competition as he dealt out first round a TKO, a Submission (Armbar) and another TKO to Zach Taylor, Sultan Tikhaev and Beau Baker, respectively.

McClintock began training in combat sports at the age of 13 when he started practicing Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, in which he now holds the rank of second-degree brown belt.

As a member of Arizona Combat Sports in Tempe, McClintock finds himself training alongside fellow Bellator newcomer and welterweight hopeful Ben Askren. McClintock’s nickname, “Tick-Tock,” was coined by another ACS teammate who observed that, with McClintock, “it’s only a matter of time” before he wins his bout.

McClintock will look to continue his success as he enters Season 2 of the Bellator Welterweight World Championship in April 2010. McClintock will compete against top competition in the 170 lbs. division of the tournament alongside seven other title hopefuls for the chance to emerge as the No. 1 contender and enter a title match against current Bellator Welterweight Champion Lyman Good.

McClintock currently lives in Tempe, Ariz., along with his girlfriend and their newborn daughter, Madison.
