Three Championship Fights headline Bellator 73 LIVE from Harrah’s Tunica Friday, August 24

Bellator's memorable Summer Series will leave an indelible mark in its finale as the world's top tournament-based MMA promotion will feature THREE championship fights in one night at Bellator 73: Curran vs. Pitbull on Friday, August 24 from Harrah's Tunica Hotel and Casino in Tunica Resorts, Mississippi. One of the biggest fights of the year will take place as Bellator Featherweight World Champion Pat Curran makes his first title defense against the dangerous Patricio Pitbull, plus the Season 6 Bantamweight Tournament Championship will be on the line as submission aces Marcos Galvao and Luis Nogueira square off. The night will also feature the Summer Series Light Heavyweight Tournament Championship, which saw four finishes in the quarterfinal round.

The Bellator 65 weigh-ins have been completed from Atlantic City, New Jersey in preparation for Bellator's Friday night event at Caesars Boardwalk Hall, which features the Bantamweight Title Fight between Champion Zach Makovsky and challenger Eduardo Dantas. Also, a Bellator Season Six Featherweight Tournament semifinal fight will take place as Daniel Straus meets Mike Corey. Additionally, the Bellator Season Six Bantamweight Tournament continues with two quarterfinal matchups as Alexis Vila takes on Luis Nogueira and Marcos Galvao squares off against Ed West.

It means the world.  It’s a huge opportunity and I feel honored to be fighting for Bellator

What are your thoughts on the Tournament Format? 
I think it’s fair and gives the best an opportunity to prove themselves. I’ve caught some tough breaks, but I understand that is part of the game, and can’t leave it in the hands of the judges.

What does it mean to you being a Bellator World Champion?
A dream come true. 

In 3 years, where do you see yourself?
As a Bellator Champion.

Against Fredson Paixao.

Are you married and do you have any kids?
Married, no kids

What is your message to aspiring fighters that dream of fighting on a big stage?
Never give up on your dreams 

What’s the one thing you are most proud of that you’ve accomplished so far in your life?
Helping my mother build her house. 

How did you get into fighting and when/where was your very first pro fight?
Watching the older guys at the gym training for fights got me involved, and my first professional fight was in Japan.
