FIGHTER NEWS & UPDATES
Q & A
Who or what inspires you?
I haven’t fought for a title yet, so that inspires me to always push forward, and be the best I can be.
What do you do in your spare time, when you’re not preparing for a fight?
Hang out with my girlfriend and our dog. Also, relaxing and enjoying life.
If you were describing yourself as a fighter, what would you say?
I would say aggressive, somewhat unique and different than your average MMA fighter.
What does it mean to you to be fighting for Bellator Fighting Championships?
It means a lot to be fighting on a big stage with Bellator. I am happy and privileged to be here.
What are your thoughts on the Tournament Format?
It is definitely unique, so it brings a totally different element. I was fortunate last time to come out healthy.
In 3 years, where do you see yourself?
I’m still young in my MMA career, so I expect to be at the top of the rankings in whatever weight class I’m in.
Which victory are you most proud of in your career?
My fight against Lyman stands out. Lyman was an ex-champion, so that definitely stands out to me as my biggest win.
What is your message to aspiring fighters that dream of fighting on a big stage?
Just go forward and do it. MMA is the perfect sport for wrestlers, or anyone that is just tough in general and wants to push themselves to the limit.
What’s the one thing you are most proud of that you’ve accomplished so far in your life? Probably the 2004 Olympics Games
How did you get into fighting and when/where was your very first pro fight?
It was tough to learn the striking part of the game, but in my first fights I just used my judo skills. Every fight I feel like I’m progressing and becoming a well rounded fighter.
In a perfect scenario, what would be your favorite way to end a fight?
Having a close fight and coming down to the wire with a judo throw and knockout at the end to close it out.
